It was quite a treat for the Diamond Fireballs, and perfect end to our week, to immerse ourselves in the beautiful Philippine culture. We started the day in the Fine Arts theatre for the Elementary School assembly, where songs and dance numbers by members of student body and ISM staff entertained us. We then proceeded to learn a few words and phrases in Tagalog. Our next destination was the ES Gym, where we explored a few ethnic dances and famous Filipino games. The next treat of the day (and the highlight for many) was a Jeepney ride on University Parkway followed by delicious Filipino ice cream and Taho (a famous Filipino treat made from silken tofu, sago pearls, and brown sugar syrup). After lunch, our class collaborated to make a Fiesta Salad (a mix of tropical fruits sweetened with cream and condensed milk). We ended the day with fun Filipino stories at the CMC.
