Students enjoyed our inquiry into different parts of speech. We started by collaborating in small groups to piece together parts of broken up sentences. As a next step, parts of these sentences that were names, action words, or describing words were extracted. We then proceeded with finding definitions, stating examples, creating sentences using these examples, and expressing through illustrations.
